Lead-acid batteries are the main batteries used in
Sightseeing Bus now. Batteries are not damaged by use but by charging. This is by no means alarmist. The quality of battery charging performance plays a pivotal role in the maintenance, service life and performance of
Electric Sightseeing Car batteries, and must be taken seriously.
1. The discharge depth of the battery has a great influence on the cycle life of the battery. This is because the deeper the discharge depth, the greater the expansion and contraction of the electrode, and the more active substances of the positive electrode fall off, thus losing the discharge characteristics and performance degradation until the end of life. Therefore, when using the battery, deep discharge should be avoided as much as possible, and shallow discharge and frequent charging should be achieved. Generally, it should be achieved that the battery is best charged once when the discharge depth is 50%-70%.
2. After the battery is discharged to the termination voltage, continuing to discharge (over-discharge) will seriously damage the battery. This is because it is very easy to form irreversible sulfation at this time, which makes the charging recovery ability worse, or even impossible to repair. Therefore, when using the battery, over-discharge should be prevented, and undervoltage protection is an effective measure. The undervoltage protection measure is controlled by the Electric Sightseeing Car controller, but because the Electric Sightseeing Car instrument and indicator lights and other power-consuming appliances are not controlled by the controller, the Electric Sightseeing Car lock starts to use electricity once it is closed. Although the current is small, if it is discharged for a long time, the battery will be over-discharged. Therefore, the lock should not be opened for a long time, and it should be turned off immediately when not in use.
3. The charging current should be less than or equal to the charging current that the battery can accept. Otherwise, the excess current generated by overcharging will cause the electrolyte to be consumed too quickly and produce serious gassing. Over time, it will make charging very difficult, so overcharging should be prevented as much as possible during charging. Chargers produced by regular manufacturers can ensure that the battery is not overcharged.
4. Lead-acid batteries are particularly afraid of low-power discharge. If the low-power battery is placed for 3-7 days, it may be permanently damaged. Therefore, please charge the battery as soon as possible after use. For batteries that are not used for a long time, the battery should be charged once every 15 days or so to compensate for the self-discharge power loss during storage.
5. When the battery of an Electric Sightseeing Car is operated in a high temperature season, the main problem is overcharging. Therefore, in summer, the battery temperature should be kept low to ensure good heat dissipation, avoid charging after being exposed to the sun, and stay away from heat sources. In low temperature conditions, the main problems with charging are poor charging acceptance and insufficient charging, which causes battery power loss. In low temperatures, insulation and antifreeze measures should be taken, especially when charging, the battery should be placed in a warm environment, which is conducive to ensuring sufficient power, preventing the occurrence of irreversible sulfation, and extending the service life of Electric Sightseeing Car batteries.
